Well, we got back yesterday. I have to work today and tommorow and we’re
heading back tomorrow evening for one more night. Then I’ll drive the rig
home Wednesday. It was quite an adventurous, or should I say frustrating
trip out to Williams Bay. Thanks to Cam for towing us up a hill, to his shop
and doing a quick repair to the fuel system. I realized later at camp that
the gas tank being that old, had loose rust inside which plugged the fuel
filter every 1/4 mile which made the trip take 3 hours, instead of 1 hour.
I’ve got a solution for the drive home with no interruptions enroute.
It was so nice to be back there, a year later. The weather was another story.
Definitely the worst camping weather you could fathem. Snow would have been
relief, instead of the steady and torrential at times rainfall. Wind was also
thrown in. But we toughed it out, laughed it off, had another drink, and
reminded ourselves everyone else was enjoying the same beautiful weather.
We had one sunset. See photo above. The one sunny day we had, was quite warm.
We all headed out in the boat, did some fishing, island exploring and swimming.
We had some awesome meals. I even made my trademark nachos and cooked ‘em
over the bbq. I made the hungry man’s breakfast each morning along
with a couple of beer and clams, for me of course.
The camp site was pretty bare, with only 4 other campers. That was different.
Not too many day fishermen either. The weather had alot to do with it, but
I also think the price of gas has kept people closer to home.
We had a bear visit the camp site 2 separate nights. He knocked over
my deep fryer pot both times. Little bastard. But, I should have learned
after the first time.
The fishing was very slow. I mean we caught fish, but not the numbers you
would normally see. The May Flies were out everywhere and the fish always
feed on them a lot. That’s a good reason to have slow fishing.
Overall we had a lot of fun. The RV kept us dry and toasty warm.
I’ve posted various pics of our trip here.
Check ‘em out.
Will upload some videos to YouTube tomorrow.

Later…..
